Six years after the formation of the band, ZERO MENTALITY come to realize they are stranded on the planet of the apes. Bound to a music-scene which is ruled by absence of imagination, the five musicians out of the ruhrpott area deny to confirm to the mainstream. They run away from topical trends as if they were chased by the demons of hell, life and death. During their exodus they become aware there is only one salvation: Black Rock. From January to April 2009 they created an album together with their long-time producer and friend Jacob Bredahl in Arhus, Denmark. It's harder as cooled lava and softer as steel. On October the 9th 2009, Zero Mentality will release Black Rock on the Munich-based independent-label Let It Burn Records and put the cat among the pigeons with a breath-taking and unconventional interpretation of rock, metal and hardcore to bring a historical caesura in the music of the apes.

Until the release of Black Rock the history of ZERO MENTALITY expands to five records (a demo, which also got reprinted on vinyl, the 2005 debut Album »In Fear of Forever«, a split 7inch with Belgiums finest THE SETUP entitled »soul and death«, the second Album »invite your soul« from 2007 and their current output »virtues and vices« ) and a lot of live shows. Since their foundation in the end of 2002, the band toured all over Europe. 2005 a tour was shared with friends in Born From Pain, and with two headlining trips to promote »invite your soul« in 2007 they continued to spread the name ZERO MENTALITY. They recently played some festivals with major acts like SLAYER, MACHINEHEAD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, KORN, etc and before they already shared stages with Bands like AGNOSTIC FRONT, CALIBAN, CONVERGE, HATEBREED, HATESPHERE, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, MADBALL, MAROON, NAPALM DEATH, SICK OF IT ALL, TERROR … just to name a few. Coming from a deeply routed Hardcore background, ZERO MENTALITY is a band that manages to live up to their existing influences of Metal, Rock, Punk and furthermore. They create a boundless mixture that is true to an individual style rather than being a lump of things. ZERO MENTALITY’s sound is familiar to those who like Metal riffs, rockin’ song-structures, nihilistic vocal approaches as well as heartfelt voices. But as this is no limit to the whole package, one should be ready to include everything into expectation.
