The Blackout Argument

split up

Very sad news from THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT. The band decided to call it a day. Read their indepth and heartful statement:

OUR TIME IS UP...

The following statement is a really sad one so let's cut this short: The Blackout Argument are going to split up in 2011. The reason for this is that our singer Raphael has decided to quit the band. His comment on this: "After careful consideration I decided to leave The Blackout Argument. A decision, which isn't an easy one for me but I think it's the right one. There are situations in life when you have to cut loose from things you love. My apprenticeship and work call more and more for time, so this doesn't agree with BOA. I wanna thank every BOA member and ex-member for all these years."

This is not an easy thing for the remaining band members. We have taken the time to discuss all options but the bottom line is that we rather end this properly than to rush into an uncertain future. To disband The Blackout Argument makes more sense to us, than to continue without Raphael.

We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible support we came by, especially since the release of "Detention". Particularly Redfield Records, the coolest independent label in the world and the Trouble Kids, who we feel connected with far beyond this band.

...OUR TIME IS NOW
But before we call it a day we would like to do a few more things to not end this with a crying eye only, but also with a smiling one:

1.) We will play all scheduled shows / festivals in July and August and we are very much looking forward to this:
29.07.2011 Bausendorf (D) - Riez Open Air w/ Strung Out, Stick To Your Guns, Mikroboy
30.07.2011 Grossefehn (D) - Oma's Teich Festival w/ Wir Sind Helden, Editors, Casper
06.08.2011 Gränichen (CH) - Open Air w/ Bad Religion, Strung Out, Deliver
13.08.2011 Halver (D) - Midsummer Festival w/ Poison My Blood, The Hirsch Effekt

2.) In October / November we're going to do a short farewell tour together with our label-mates Social Suicide and one more band to be announced.

3.) We will also put out one final release until the tour (Details follow soon).

4.) In the next couple of weeks we are going to release an awesome live-/musicvideo of our song "Overweight Against Heart Attacks".

We can't wait to meet and party with you all one more time at our farewell tour. Those 5 years have been an incedibly exciting time for us which we will keep in our minds and hearts forever.

"Smile Like A Wolf" 7inch Version

THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT have released a limited 7inch version of their fabulous "Smile Like A Wolf" EP. it contains 3 songs of the download ep and one exclusive bonus track. read the band's statement:
"To not bore you to death with the usual 'we are so happy that label X has released our release Z"-chatter I will cut this short: Niko / Blacktop is one hell of a cool guy and when the idea came up to release a limited 7inch of "Smile Like A Wolf" there was only one option for us, Blacktop Records." We know that some of you kids might have problems with the new Blacktop catalog. A lot of Niko's latest signings do not really reflect what's commonly understood under the term 'hardcore' but take a second now and listen up: who gives a fuck?! Niko is doing an amazing job with Blacktop since day one and broadening his roster with bands that might not be as 'crucial' as some of his previous signings is daring but at the same time it deserves to be supported. So take the thumb out of your ass and check out some new bands that do/did not split after the first demo and 7inch."

And here's what Niko / Blacktop has to say about the cooperation:
"Everyone who claims to know me has realized that I to sign whatever band I like, no matter if the kids think it does or does not fit in the Blacktop roster. And here we go once again: I loved The Blackout Argument since the day Chris gave me their first EP. I’ve seen them live, shared stages with them and worked with Chris’ label Let It Burn Records and it has always been a pleasure. I like professionalism, I like well-organized and dedicated bands & people and I like the so called 'Modern Hardcore'. Confront The Blackout Argument with whatever stereotype prejudice you like, it's a hardcore band, so get your hand on this release and be enlightened."
